Retail investments held or previously held by Barana (and/or associated entities) include:

- 48-62 Majors Road, Concord
Toormina Gardens Shopping Centre, Coffs Harbour
- Riverside Plaza Shopping Centre, Queanbeyan
- Lake Macquarie Fair Shopping Centre, Lake Macquarie
 

Consistent with Barana’s investment philosophy of trading assets where on a risk adjusted basis the returns are no longer satisfactory, these shopping centres were sold between 1999 and 2001.

FEATURED CASE STUDY

Opera Quays, Sydney



In December 2001 the Opera Quays stratum, which forms part of the Bennelong development at East Circular Quay adjacent to the Sydney Opera House was acquired.

 

This stratum included 27 shops as well as associated storage and parking areas. The necessary approvals to strata sub-divide the stratum into individual lots represented by each retail shop was obtained and all shops have been sold.
